Ease of Use
Capability Architect has a low training overhead because it uses a simple and intuitive user interface. In a single view the user can see all model classes, the properties of the selected element and the relationships between that element and other elements in the model .
A simple double-click will add or remove relationships to your element and properties can be free text or selected from customised drop-down lists. Most of the remaining features are accessed from a simple right-click menu.
Diagram Support
Integrated diagrams are provided to enable users to develop their model in a visual environment. Flow diagrams capture system behaviour, logic and data flows. Hierarchy diagrams summarise the functional or system breakdown. Interface diagrams are used to visualise key physical relationships between systems and components.
Document Generation
Capability Architect supports ‘one-click’ document generation to quickly and reliably produce a range of system reports, including:

- System Specifications
- Interface Control Documents
- Ad-hoc custom reports
Documents exploit the structured information architecture to report on elements, their relationships and the supporting diagrams. By generating documents directly from the model you ensure that all data is current and consistent.
Training and Support
Group Training
A short, half-day Basic User training course is available to quickly bring your team up to speed. A half-day Advanced User course is also available which covers more in-depth topics, such as custom scripting. All Capability Architect scripts use Structured Query Language (SQL) and the ubiquitous Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to generate documents.
Web Interface
Capability Architect also has an optional web-based interface to support broader access to the capability model. Most application features are available through the web interface.
